In an attempt to flesh out the entirety of the descendants of Richard Bilton family in Australia, I have attempted to chart all the Bilton's in New South Wales prior to about 1920 (the NSW birth index is available up to 1918). Richard, the progenitor of the Bilton's of particular interest in Australia, had two wives (not at the same time!) and the two "families" displayed very different patterns in terms of forenames and geography. For some time it actually looked like there were two Richard Bilton's. A thorough examination of the BMD indices has shown that this was not the case. Since the research on the other Bilton's has been done, I am including it here in the hope that it may prove useful to other researchers and it may in fact eventually turn out that they are connected to Richard Bilton, back in England. I am happy to make corrections or additions to the following charts, but I have no plans to do any more research on these families.
