Mary Jane Baker

Attempts to find further information on this family have proven fruitless to date. The earliest confirmed record of this family was the marriage of Mary Jane Baker in 1845 at St Mark's, Kennington, Co Surrey, listing her father as Thomas Baker, sawyer. Mary resided Kennington at the time of her marriage. No trace of Mary and her father have been found in the 1841 census. Whilst there were several Thomas' of around the right age and several Mary's of around the right age, all can be ruled out. Likewise no sign of Mary's birth in or around Kennington has been found. There were several Mary Baker's baptised in the area around 1823, however the name is too common to conclude any of those are Mary Jane. FreeBMD lists the deaths of 4 Thomas Baker's in the Lambeth district between 1837-1851, any of whom could have been Thomas, below, assuming Mary Jane was a native of the district.
