Obtaining your ticket is probably the easiest part of travelling
overseas (even if the most expensive part). Before you do that you should
make sure your visa is in order. Check the local consulate/embassy of the
country you wish to visit. For the USA this site, the US Department of
State Consular Affairs is a good place to visit. It costs nothing and
is usually more helpful than the consular receptionist. The site contains
information on all types of US entry visas, both immigrant and
visitor.

As an Aussie I can't leave this section without including a link
to the Flying Kangaroo airline, Qantas - the airline with the world's
BEST safety record.
