David Dragon (human alias: David Powell, born in Parramatta, NSW, Australia 24Mar64 - the Year of the Dragon, naturally) is a silver dragon of unknown age who currently resides in Sydney in a weyr with 2 humans that he adopted some time ago. He proudly dons a beard, as he has for 18 years.

David collects many other things for his weyr. These include pet rocks (geological specimens, please!), stamps, a few thousand books (a great many of them science fiction, but also archeology, religion, and history), vinyl records, CD's, and, of course, dragons and heaps of stuff off the net.

He chose to settle down in Australia for its relatively small human population (dragons like peace and quiet to meditate about life). He will occasionally intercept incoming planes of tourists to consume as an afternoon snack, though strawberry custard pie goes down much nicer. *burp* (Actually I'd much prefer vanilla icecream, but one has to keep up the dragon reputation now and again.).

In his younger dragon days, David was an accomplished swimmer, but abandoned this to go on to earn a PhD in chemistry (1990). This feat is especially noteworthy because, in addition to becoming a graduate uni survivor, he became a kidney stone survivor a couple years prior to that (Yeah, I'm one of the few males who can say they've had a "baby" by both natural and cesearian delivery. *Ouch!*).

In the meantime, he keeps himself occupied reading, writing snails and emails to various crazy people around the world, playing on the net, working on his family tree, doing voluntary church work, and until recently editing a sf/fantasy fanzine for ACDW.
